Our OCT experienced mathematics teachers:
- create stimulating learning environments that encourage high level mathematical thinking and reasoning;
- engage a variety of strategies and methods of teaching and learning to guide students build a strong conceptual understanding of mathematical ideas and theories;
- challenge students with mathematical problems and tasks, which require skillful and organized thinking, and assist students shape a robust foundations of mathematics, learn and master critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- involve multiple representations of mathematics problems and integrate technology to provide visual representations to mathematics and make the abstract more tangible;
- provide opportunities for debates and formal mathematical discourse;
- assign homework on a regular basis, check it regularly, and provide timely and descriptive feedback;
- offer written feedback at the end of each trimester.
